You need to create a refine process template for a specific customer. This customer's job will be ongoing with files being received intermittently throughout a long period of time. You want to create a refine process template that will be used only for this customer.
Create a new job and set job attributes
- If it is not already open, start Prinergy Workshop.
- In Job Finder, right-click your main group, and choose New Job.
- Type the job name
XX_Create_Refine_PT
(where <XX> represents your initials). - Open the Options section in the Create New Job dialog box.
- Place a check mark beside the Job Attributes option.
- In the Due Date Time section, click the Proof > Edit button.
- Set a date and time of: Month: 12_Day: 10_Year: 2009_Time_12:00_PM. Click OK.
- Click the Final Output > Edit button.
- Set a date and time of: Month: 12_Day: 12_Year: 2009_Time_10:00_AM. Click OK.
- In the Set Job Attributes dialog box, click OK.
- In the Create New Job dialog box, click Create.
- From the Edit menu in Job Manager, choose Edit Job Attributes.
- Change the Final Output date to: Month: 12_Day: 12_Year: 2009_Time_9:00_AM.
Create a refine process template
- From the Tools menu, choose Process Template Editor.
- Right-click the Refine group, and choose New Process Template Group.
- Name the group XXRefineGroup (where <XX> represents your initials).
- Right-click your refine group XXRefineGroup and choose New Process Template.
- From the File menu, select Save.
- Name the process template XXRefineTemplate (where <XX> represents your initials).
- Click the Create Process Template button.
- In the XXRefineTemplate process template window, clear the Trap option.
- From the File menu, select Save.
- Close the process template.
- Close Process Template Editor.
- Minimize the Job Manager window.
Copy an input file to the job folder
- From your workstation, locate:
Prinergy Activity Practice Files / Act_09_Create Refine PT / Input File
- Restore Job Manager.
- Open the
Input File
folder. - Drag the
Wells Brochure.ps
to the Job Manager's Input Files area. - In the Add Input Files dialog box that appears, under Options, clear the Process Selected Files Using Process Template check box.
- Click OK.
Your file is copied to the UserDefinedFolders
folder. - Minimize the Job Manager window.
Add and refine the input file using the Refine process template
- Right-click the Job Folder button in the lower left corner of Job manager and select Open Job Folder in File Browser.
- Locate and select the input file
UserDefinedFolders / Input Files / Wells Brochure.ps
. - Drag the input file to the Refine > XXRefineGroup > XXRefineTemplate process template in the Process Templates pane in Job Manager.
Note: This is a quick alternative to selecting Add Input Files from the File menu and then selecting the process template in the Add Input Files dialog box. - In the Add Input Files dialog box, click OK.
- In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
