A daemon is a process on a server that runs behind the scenes to perform a specific task. It has no user interface, and you do not interact directly with a daemon. Instead, you make requests through the Prinergy Evo Client software, which initiates communication with the appropriate daemons.
Each daemon plays a unique role as part of the Prinergy Evo system. A daemon has two reference names. For example, License Server daemon is the full name, and JLicenseD.exe is the corresponding executable name.
Note: Daemons are also commonly referred to as servers. In Prinergy Evo software, the term daemon is always used, to avoid confusion between server software and server hardware.

Un démon est un processus exécuté à l'arrière-plan sur un serveur pour exécuter une tâche spécifique. Il ne comporte pas d'interface utilisateur et ne permet donc aucune interaction directe. Vous pouvez toutefois envoyer des requêtes par l'intermédiaire du logiciel Prinergy Evo Client qui établit les communications avec les démons appropriés.
Chaque démon joue un rôle unique dans le cadre du système Prinergy Evo. Un démon est référencé par deux noms. Par exemple, au démon dont le nom complet est License Server, correspond le nom exécutable JLicenseD.exe.
Remarque : les démons sont bien souvent appelés serveurs. Le logiciel Prinergy Evo utilise systématiquement le terme démon pour éviter toute confusion entre le logiciel serveur et le matériel serveur.
